Isotope data of Finnish bedrock
The database consists of three components: "Published age determination”, ”Published Sm-Nd isotope data" and "Pb isotope data on galena". The "Published age determination" database is based on age determinations, which comprise predominantly U-Pb zircon data produced at the Geological Survey of Finland since 1960’s. For igneous rocks the age register contains radiometric ages mostly interpreted as primary ages. The information given consists of location data, rock type, method, mineral analyzed, age results, comments and references. "Published Sm-Nd isotope data" comprise Sm-Nd data procuded at GTK since 1981, which mostly are used to constrain the origin of crust. "Pb isotope data on galena" gives results produced at GTK since 1970's, and include also previously unpublished data.

The database "Isotope data of Finnish bedrock" is based on results, mostly produced at GTK. The database has been compiled at the laboratory of isotope geology at GTK.
The register contains published isotope results, which comprise predominantly U-Pb zircon ages, Sm-Nd data on whole rocks and Pb isotope data on galenas produced at the Geological Survey of Finland. The database relies on systematic storage of isotope results, which has been standard procedure at the GTK isotope laboratory operated since 1964. Other data from the laboratory, not included in this database, include Rb-Sr, O, C and O isotopes.
The information included in the "Published age determination" database consists of location data, rock type, method, mineral analyzed, age and error, comments and references. The age data contains six elements: The age (concordant data or for older U-Pb method upper intercept age, Ma), an error estimate on the 2-sigma level, lower intercept age (for U-Pb), error in lower intercept age, number of analyses and a reliability indicator: C for concordant analyses, I for concordia upper intercept, NC for nearly concordant analyses, R for reference line (because of e.g. heterogeneity or a high degree of discordancy). The comments contain additional information such as age results from e.g. titanite and monazite, eventual Nd epsilon values etc. It is also indicated, if one or more analysis have been rejected from the age calculation. The abbreviations include: sl (=slightly), disc (=discordant), conc (=concordant), E-Nd (=initial epsilon Nd), heter (=heterogeneous), excl (=excluded), frac (=fraction), conv (=conventional), 7/6 (= 207Pb/ 206Pb age). Analytical methods for isotope analyses are described in references and for GTK analyses also in the manual "standard operating procedures".
The information in the ”Published Sm-Nd isotope data" and "Pb isotope data on galena" follows standard practices described in normal references.
